Between 1948 - 1989 the communist regime and its henchmen tried to liquidate the Czech rural population and to collectivise the country by force. Many farmers were executed, thousands were imprisoned, families were forced to move from their homes, children were thrown out of schools, properties were stolen and devastated. The perpetrators of these crimes were never punished.
After 1989 the followers of the regime were only reluctantly returning the properties and they often kept these for their own business activities. Against all these odds the private farmers again manage more than 25 % of Czech farmland.
The Czech farmer has survived and he shall never forget the hardship of his ancestors!
