Farma je zaměřena na užitkový chov prasat - 60 ks prasnic a 500 ks ve výkrmu. Ve stáji je zabudovaná rakouská technologie Schauer. Stáj byla uvedena do provozu v roce 1993 jako druhá tohoto typu v České republice. Náleží k ní výrobna krmných směsí s vlastním dovozem. Chov prasat dosahuje užitkovosti 22,3 selete na jednu prasnici. Prasata jsou křížena Č.B. a Landras, kanci masný typ - trojplemeno. Z 98 % je prováděna inseminace.
Ve stáji jsou zaměstnány dvě ženy, jejichž pracovní náplní je zejména péče o selata v porodnici a telata v odchovně, sledování říje u prasnic, kontrola chodu počítačů, zdravotního stavu zvířat apod. Tyto ženy pracují denně zhruba 3 hodiny. Krmení prasat provádí počítač.
V rostlinné výrobě je pěstována řepa cukrovka, pšenice, ječmen, řepka ozimá, hrách a len na olej.
Farma disponuje touto mechanizací: 2 traktory John Deere, 4 traktory značky Zetor, kombajn John Deere 9660 WTS, nákladní automobil Škoda Trambus, hon a další stroje a nářadí.
V rostlinné výrobě pracuje manažer farmy Ing. Andrýs, mechanizaci má na starosti mladší syn Jiří. Dále jsou zde zaměstnáni dva traktoristé, kombajnista a další. Miroslav Zitko pracuje na výstavbě farmy a jejím celkovém vzhledu a společně s manželkou řídí chov prasat.
Druhou část firmy tvoří Alukov - výroba pojízdných krytů na zahradní bazény. Tuto firmu s 280 zaměstnanci řídí starší syn Miroslava Zitka, který zároveň vede účetnictví farmy.
V letošním roce bude farma přibírat zhruba 70 ha orné půdy v bonitě 12. Do budoucna plánuje majitel kromě jiného vyřešit naskladňování a vyskladňování pšenice a vybudovat velkou čističku.
Zitko Farm Vlčnov
The Zitko family has lived in Vlčnov since 1670. In 1950 the family was evicted, father of the current owner Miroslav Zitko was sent to the mines in Jáchymov and the communist party did not allow the owner himself to graduate from an agricultural high school. Miroslav Zitko began farming as the first private farmer in the Chrudim region in 1991 on 60 hectares of farmland; other plots were rented later until the contemporary 350 hectares.
The farm aims at pig rearing - 60 sows and 500 heads of pigs being fattened. Austrian Schauer technology is implemented in the stable, part of which is also a feed manufacturing plant. The stable was put into operation in 1993 as a second of its kind in the Czech Republic. The pig breed achieves a yield of 22.3 piglets per sow. Two women work in the stable, taking care of piglets and calves, monitoring bulling of sows and the state of health of the animals, supervising the computers etc. These women work approximately 3 hours a day. Feeding the pigs is done entirely by computer.
Plant production consists of sugar beet, wheat, barley, winter rape, pea and flax for oil cultivation.
The farm disposes of following machinery: two John Deere tractors, four Zetor tractors, a combine harvester John Deere 9660 WTS, Škoda Trambus truck and other machines and tools.
Manager of the farm Ing. Andrýs is responsible for the plant production, the younger son Jiří is in charge of mechanization. There are also two tractor drivers, a combine harvester driver and other employees. The owner Miroslav Zitko is in charge of the development of the farm and its overall appearance and together with his wife they manage the pig breeding.
Second part of the firm is Alukov - manufacturing mobile covers for garden swimming pools. This firm with 280 employees is run by the farmer’s older son who at the same time keeps the accounting of the farm.
This year the farm will be enlarged by approximately 70 hectares of farmland. As a future issue the farmer plans on solving the problem of wheat deliveries to and from the silo and constructing a large winnow.
