V roce 1991 se otec Tomáše Šístka rozhodl sedlačit, tak jako jeho předci. Začal hospodařit na 40 ha půdy, z toho 14 vlastních, zbytek pronajatých. Od roku 1993 hospodaří na farmě otec se synem jako sdružení podnikatelů. Pronajali si další pole, některá se podařilo i odkoupit. Dnes má farma výměru 136 ha, zabývá se výhradně rostlinnou výrobou a příležitostně službami pro okolní sedláky. Pěstuje se zde hlavně pšenice s průměrnými výnosy okolo 7 t/ha, sladovnický ječmen s výnosy 6 t/ha, řepka s výnosy 3,7 t/ha a jako doplněk 10 ha sóji.

S hospodařením na farmě pomáhají také ženy. Matka pana Šístka vyřizuje veškeré papírování včetně účetnictví a manželka se zapojí, „ kdekoliv“ je potřeba.

Do budoucna zamýšlí majitel farmu dále rozšiřovat, nejlépe nákupem pozemků, ale blízké sousedství Prahy a výstavba rodinných domů, díky níž již farma přišla o několik hektarů, a průmyslových objektů příliš zvedá ceny půdy. Další problém, který majitel hodlá v budoucnu řešit, je nízká skladovací kapacita vlastní produkce.

Tomáš Šístek, Dehtáry

Tomáš Šístek’s farm is located in Dehtáry, a small village 4 km east of the borders of Prague. Grand grandfather and grandfather of the current owner had managed and developed this farm until the time of the creation of local unified farmers’ cooperative when the entire property of the family had been confiscated. Before the cooperative built its own site, it had “managed” the Šístek’s family farm in its own way. This had a huge impact on the state of the farm in the time of its restitution to the original owners.

Tomáš Šístek’s father decided to become a farmer, just like his ancestors were, in 1991. He started to farm on 40 hectares of land out of which 14 were owned and the rest rented. He and his son manage the farm together since 1993 as an association of entrepreneurs. They rented and purchased more fields. Nowadays 136 hectares belong to the farm which specializes at plant production and occasionally services of neighbor farmers. Wheat with yields around 7 t/ha, brewing barley yielding 6 t/ha, rape with yields 3.7 t/ha and as a complement 10 hectares of soy are grown at the farm.

With farming helps also women. Mr. Štítek`s mother disposes all paperwork and his wife would participate everywhere it is useful.

The owner intends to further enlarge the farm - the best way would be to purchase more plots, however, the vicinity of Prague and building of houses and industrial sites, thanks to which the farm has lost several hectares of land already, significantly raises the price of the land. Another problem that the farmer wants to solve in the future is a low storage capacity of the farm’s own production.
